About the farmers

Charles oversees most of the field work and can also be found in the greenhouse. He has a knack for seeing the big picture and making sure the farm runs smoothly-ish. He has a background in cooking with a certificate of some kind from the Cordon Bleu, as well as a B.A. in English and Contemporary Studies from Kings University, which comes in handy when discussing metaphysics over 800’ of carrot weeding. Charles does most of the heavy equipment work. His current area of interest is in regionally adapted seed production. Charles has previously served on the boards of the OFC and ACORN.

Jessy oversees the harvest days and much of the farm administration. She has an eye for detail and enjoys figuring out and implementing projects that will improve the farm. Jessy has a BSc. In Marine Biology and Environmental Science from Dalhousie University, and while not directly related, help with her understanding of farm ecology. Her current area of interest is improving biodiversity on the farm. Jessy serves on the boards of the Sackville Farmers’ Market and the Cumberland Federation of Agriculture. She also really, really enjoys eating.

About the Farm

We feel excited about all of the vegetables we grow, but some favourites from our farm include very flavourful cherry tomatoes and deliciously juicy melons. We also grow sweet, tender spinach through the winter and are experimenting with other winter greens.

All of our vegetables are certified organic by Ecocert Canada.

We want healthy, delicious food to be available to everyone. If our prices are a barrier, please contact us to receive subsidized veggies.

If you would like to support us in our efforts to provide subsidized veggies to lower income members of our community, please donate to our cost share fund in the spring. We can offer more of our veggies at reduced cost with your help.

See below for a table of what we grow and when it is available.
